Ladybird's Alpha Is Coming. This Browser Isn't Another Clone.

Ladybird's Alpha Is Coming. This Browser Isn't Another Clone.

Most browsers are clones. Chrome dominates, Firefox survives, and the rest are reskins of one or the other. Ladybird is trying something else: a browser built on its own terms, free and open source.

The Alpha Milestone

The alpha is close. The exact release date was not specified, but the milestone marks a real step for anyone tired of a web controlled by two dominant codebases. Ladybird does not wrap Chrome or Firefox. It builds an independent core.

Why an Independent Engine Matters

A true alternative matters. The browser market has narrowed around the same engines, and independent projects have become rare. Ladybird is one of the few efforts building from scratch rather than copying an existing browser.

A First Public Test

The alpha will be the first public test. The code is open, the direction is independent, and the release will show whether a third way can survive.
